How DocFlow uses AI

DocFlow carries the Swiss Made Software + AI label — an independent mark for Swiss software that is transparent about its use of artificial intelligence. DocFlow is developed and operated in Switzerland; here is what AI does in the product, and what it does not.

What AI does in DocFlow

AI powers ask-this-document — you ask a question in plain language and get an answer grounded in the content of a specific document — along with text assist while you work. Optical character recognition (OCR) makes scanned documents searchable, and machine translation is available on demand. AI is an opt-in module, not a precondition for using the archive.

Models and origin

DocFlow uses established third-party large language models accessed through a governed API. We do not operate a proprietary foundation model, and we do not train or fine-tune models on your documents.

Hosting and sovereignty

DocFlow is hosted in Swiss data centres on Swiss infrastructure — outside the reach of the US CLOUD Act and FINMA-compatible. The AI inference endpoint is configurable per deployment, so sovereignty-sensitive customers can route inference through a Swiss- or EU-hosted gateway.

Governance

AI answers are generated from the document content you supply at query time — retrieval in context, not a model trained on your data. Every AI request is metered and recorded in the audit trail, and zero-knowledge Vault documents are never AI-processed by construction.
